Tulane’s Jalen Cook has become the latest star player to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
ESPN’s Jonathan Givony reported Wednesday that the 6-foot point guard is entering the portal, but will also be “testing the NBA Draft waters.”
Cook declared his intention to enter the 2022 NBA Draft but later opted to return to Tulane for last season.

Cook enjoyed a spectacular year at Tulane in 2022-23, scoring 19.9 points per game and earning first-team All-AAC honors for the second straight season. He’s got a strong outside game (career 37% 3-point shooter) who could help any program. The Louisiana native spent his first season in Baton Rouge at LSU in 2020-21.
Based on Cook’s past performance, he vaults to the top of the point guard rankings in the transfer portal.
Tulane finished 20-11 this season, and 12-6 in AAC play.
Many basketball fans quickly checked in on Twitter to beg their teams to consider Cook.
