Texas quarterback Hudson Card made the decision earlier this month to enter the transfer portal. Now, his destination has been revealed.

According to ESPN college football insider Pete Thamel, Card will be heading to the Purdue Boilermakers to play for new head coach Ryan Walters next season.

Walters certainly appears to be excited about Card’s decision to commit to Purdue. He posted a video on Twitter of himself bobbing his head in the car while listening to music in his Purdue gear with the caption “Christmas ain’t over yet, just got some great news…”.

Card appeared in six games for the Longhorns this season, and was quite efficient when he did get his chance on the field, putting up 928 passing yards with six touchdowns and only one interception on the year.

With starting quarterback Aidan O’Connell set to graduate from Purdue after this season, Card will likely get the chance to compete for the starting job next season.

Many around the college football world seem to believe that this is the perfect situation for Card to grow into a star.

“Telling you now: Purdue wins the B1G West in 2023 with Hudson Card as QB1. They landed one of the best young coaches in the game with Ryan Walters, and a QB with the potential to put up monster numbers in Graham Harrell’s offense,” tweeted Cole Thompson of Fan Nation.

“Get get for Ryan Walters and the Boilermakers,” tweeted Tom Fornelli of CBS Sports.

He will be joining a staff that seemingly has an excellent mentor group for young quarterbacks, with Purdue bringing in both former NFL star quarterback Drew Brees and new offensive coordinator Graham Harrell for him to learn under.
