There have been plenty of unusual celebratory baths after college football bowl games tied into bowl names or sponsors, from mayo to Cheez-Its to french fries. On Tuesday, the latest one saw University of Texas at San Antonio coach Jeff Traylor get doused with a cooler of iced coffee.

That coffee dump came late in the Roadrunners’ 35-17 win over the Marshall Thundering Herd in the Scooter’s Coffee Frisco Bowl, their first bowl win in program history. And it came out of a Gatorade cooler decorated like a coffee cup. And it saw Traylor avoid the last part of the dump with some reflexes (and doing so during a play where Marshall’s quarterback was running towards the UTSA sideline), but still get pretty soaked:

But this got funnier still after the game. First, Traylor ended his interview with sideline reporter Dawn Davenport by discussing the coffee bath, saying “I’m ready to get in the shower with this coffee. It tasted good, but it’s awful cold.”

And he had an even better quote to media afterwards:

“Coffee running down my crack” probably wasn’t exactly the marketing Scooter’s Coffee was looking for here. But they did get a good amount of discussion of their brand out of this. And Traylor drank some more of their iced coffee at his postgame presser, despite the local time:

Perhaps the brand can workshop “Scooter’s Coffee: So good, you want to still drink it even after you’ve had it dumped down your crack.”
