Florida Gators cornerback Jason Marshall Jr. (3) tackles Missouri Tigers wide receiver Luther Burden III (3) during the first half at Steve Spurrier Field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, FL on Saturday, October 8, 2022. As if the Missouri Tigers needed more bad news after a difficult season, five-star wideout Luther Burden left the game Saturday against Florida due to an ankle injury.

Burden had five catches for 20 yards before leaving the game.

So far this season he has only 94 yards receiving and one touchdown but it’s not his fault he hasn’t gotten more catches. The Tigers’ offense as witnessed Saturday against the Florida Gators and especially against Georgia last week, is not very productive.

In fact a few weeks ago after their loss to Auburn, Burden had removed all his Missouri Tigers info off his social media pages which made many wonder if Burden planned on transferring in the future.

Burden was highly sought after coming out of high school in St. Louis, schools like Alabama and Georgia also wanted Burden but he decided to stay close to home and play with Mizzou.

Now you have to wonder with the tough season the Tigers are having and this injury if Burden is rethinking his decision to stay close to home.

No word yet from Mizzou on how serious this injury may be but the Tigers needed Burden today on offense if they wanted to have any chance not only against the Gators but down the road.
