It’s only one game, but Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes look like the real deal.

Sanders’ much-awaited debut as Colorado’s head coach finally arrived Saturday, and the Buffaloes scored a wild 45-42 upset on the road against the No. 17 TCU Horned Frogs.

The NFL legend retooled the entire roster after he arrived from HBCU Jackson State. One of the new players, his son Shedeur Sanders, is the new Buffaloes quarterback, and instantly looked like one of the best QBs in college football.

Shedeur Sanders passed for a school-record 510 yards in the win.

As for Deion Sanders, no one can say he hasn’t predicted this all along. There have been naysayers, including some who think the way he completely cleaned house with the roster sets a bad example for college football.

Just to recap: The Buffaloes, who won one game last season, went on the road as three-touchdown underdogs against TCU, which played in the CFP national championship game earlier this year.

Upsets don’t come any bigger.

In a post-game interview just after the final whistle, Sanders thanked God, hugged his son, then sent a message to the college football world.

“We told you we coming. We told you we coming,” Sanders told Fox Sports. “You thought we was joking. And guess what? We keep receipts?”

Just in case the Sanders haters didn’t get the message, he told reporters, “I keep receipts,” as he left his post-game media session.

Sanders’ critics were strangely silent Saturday after the big win, as fans saluted him.

Colorado hosts Nebraska in its next game Sept. 9.
