A year ago, no one cared about the annual rivalry game between the Colorado Buffaloes and Colorado State Rams.

This year, it feels like the most heated rivalry in the nation, at least for the moment.

Deion Sanders and the Buffs are 2-0 and have become the hottest team in college football with both ESPN and FS1 following their every move. This week they’re heavily favored over the 0-1 Rams, but things got heated when CSU coach Jay Norvell took a shot at Sanders, saying that adults shouldn’t talk to one another while wearing hats and sunglasses. Coach Prime chirped back and that set the tone for Saturday’s game.

It should be no surprise that there was some drama before the game even began.

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders and some Colorado State players started talking smack to one another during warmups. Then, a Colorado State player swatted a pass from Sanders to wide receiver Travis Hunter, which led to players from both teams taking things to the next level as they swarmed the center of the field to get at one another.

Hunter took the opportunity to let the Colorado State players know what he thought of them.

“Oh you’re so big and bad,” Hunter is seen saying to Rams players while also physically taunting them.

Buckle up, things are gonna get wild in Boulder.
