The college football world was rocked by some tragic and heartbreaking news on Monday morning after the University of Virginia president Jim Ryan announced news of a shooting that killed Virginia Cavaliers football player D’Sean Perry. The situation got a little more complicated when it was revealed that former a Virginia football was the suspect in the shooting and now it’s been revealed that the Virginia football program was affected even more deeply as two more Virginia Cavaliers players were among those killed
According to ACC reporter Mike Barber of the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Ryan revealed that former Virginia Cavaliers football player Christopher Darnell Jones is the suspect in a shooting that killed Perry as well as fellow Virginia football players Devin Chandler and Lavel Davis Jr. on Sunday night.

According to Barber, five individuals were shot on Sunday night. Perry, Chandler and Davis were killed while two unnamed others were wounded and are currently hospitalized with injuries – one is in critical condition and the other is in good condition.
Throughout Sunday night and Monday morning, Jones had not been apprehended and was thought to be “armed and dangerous,” but late on Monday morning University of Virginia Police Chief Tim Longo announced that Jones was in police custody.
