This is one that may turn you off from Popeyes the next time you have a craving for some fried chicken. A woman in New York claims she was served a portion of fried chicken at Popeyes with a not-so-tasteful surprise: a fried rat.
Rosemary Thomas posted a few images of the head of a rat that was fried and served to her at a Popeyes location in Harlem, New York. According to Thomas, the franchise displays an impeccable health rating from the Department of Health too, making this even more shocking and unsettling.
To the credit of the franchise owner, he has arranged to meet with Thomas and has ordered for a full inspection of his restaurant. According to Mashable, nothing out of the ordinary was found during the inspection. The franchise owner claims what looks like a rat’s head may actually be chicken organ meat. They are working to recover the sample from Thomas so a full test can be done on the gross-looking fried chicken.
