It’s not often that two of the biggest stars across two different sports join forces, but that’s exactly what happened on Monday afternoon after an announcement from Major League Baseball superstar slugger Mike Trout and golf legend Tiger Woods.

On Monday afternoon, the PGA Tour announced that Tiger Woods and Mike Trout were joining forces to create a new golf course called Trout National – The Reserve

“Mike Trout [hand shake emoji] Tiger Woods,” the PGA Tour began in a tweet. “Two of the biggest names in their respective sports announced the creation of a new golf course, Trout National – The Reserve. Set to open in 2025, the course will be built in Vineland, NJ, a short drive from Trout’s hometown.”

Trout also announced the news on his Twitter account.

“We promised you all a big announcement and here it is! We are so excited to be able to make a longtime dream of mine a reality, with none other than @TigerWoods and @tgrdesignbytw. We can’t wait to share more updates with you as we create Trout National – The Reserve,” Trout said in a tweet.

It’s a pretty huge announcement, and the sports world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

That’s probably not what people expected on a Monday afternoon.
