Tiger Woods has been the talk of the sports world since it was revealed that he was heading to Augusta National last week to play practice rounds at the course, with a possibility of joining the 2022 Masters field. Woods revealed on Tuesday that he felt like he was going to play in the event.

It would be monumental for the sport of golf if Woods does decide that he can play at the event, just over a year after being involved in a horrific car crash that nearly cost Woods his leg.

Hitting shots is not the issue for Woods, he can do that just fine as he has been seen in practice rounds hitting impressive shots. The taxing part of the tournament will be Woods making the 18-hole walk, potentially, for four rounds, and how his body will respond to doing so.

Woods spent Wednesday, the last day before the event starts, on the course playing a final practice round, a big step in making his final decision to play or not. Afterward, Tiger had a short but telling statement to the media, according to USA Today’s Steve DiMeglio, saying “Everything’s good, brother.”

It’s hard to hear that and not believe that Tiger is good to go for the 2022 Masters Tournament. The golf world will get to see him perform on the PGA Tour for the first time since the November Masters of 2020.

Woods has done some magical things at this event before, winning the tournament five times in his storied career. Considering all he has gone through in the past year, that expectation may be a bit much, but it would be foolish to count out one of the best golfers of all time at Augusta National.
