IMG Academy, a football powerhouse in Florida, hosted a winless Canadian high school team Friday night. And if you follow high school football, you know this didn’t end well for the visitors.
IMG obliterated West Toronto Prep, in Bradenton, Florida, rolling to a 96-0 halftime lead. And that turned out to be the final score, as the second half got called off.

Really, did anyone expect anything different when these two teams met? IMG Academy is one of the top prep football programs in the U.S., consistently ranking in the top 10 nationally in recent years. It has sent more than 200 players to college football programs.
West Toronto Prep entered the game 0-5. And it’s not as though things might have been different with a break or two. Even before Friday’s debacle, West Toronto had been outscored 195-6.

The rout evoked memories of IMG Academy’s 2021 game against Bishop Sycamore. IMG won that nationally televised game in a 58-0 rout, leading to an investigation into Bishop Sycamore. The Ohio Department of Education investigated the school and determined it was a scam.
Sports fans on Twitter didn’t understand why IMG can’t find more competitive teams to schedule.
