Seattle Mariners veteran slugger Nelson Cruz is known for hitting dingers. The 36-year-old has 32 homers on the season, after hitting 44 homers last season, and 40 homers in 2014.
However, I doubt Cruz has hit too many homers like he did on Monday night against the New York Yankees at Safeco Field, when he cracked his bat on a swing and still had enough muscle to send the ball over the left field wall:

Nelson Cruz just hit a HR on a swing that nearly split his bat in half and MLB says the balls arent juiced. pic.twitter.com/v3EiVpGmbe

That’s pretty ridiculous, and it added a nice insurance run for the Mariners in a 7-5 win. Seattle has now won 15 of their last 20 games, and sit just one game behind the Baltimore Orioles for the second AL Wild Card slot.
