Memphis Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks, whose actions in the NBA Playoffs have earned the wrath of the NBA world in recent days, played the blame game Sunday.
Speaking after the Grizzlies practice, Brooks essentially said the media and fans are to blame for making him a villain.
Brooks specifically addressed his ejection in Game 3 for a Flagrant 2 foul he got for giving Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James a shot to the groin. Brooks already had made news in the series for taunting James after the Grizzlies’ Game 2 victory.
The Grizzlies bad boy thinks the refs were influenced by the media and fans to eject him after the contact with James.
“The media making me a villain,” Brooks said (via ESPN). “The fans making me a villain, and then that just creates a whole different persona on me.”

ESPN reported Sunday that the NBA will not take any further action against Brooks. The two teams meet again Monday night. The Lakers lead the series, 2-1.
James responded to Brooks’ antics after Game 3, telling reporters, “This is not my first rodeo. I had this throughout my career with certain individuals. It’s easy. It’s literally easy.”
The NBA world thinks Brooks is making a bad move trying to blame others for his actions.
