The Portland Trail Blazers have updated the condition of No. 3 overall pick, Scoot Henderson after he was hurt in his Summer League debut on Friday.

Henderson will miss at least one more game. Still, it feels like the injury is not too serious.

Marc J. Spears of ESPN reported on Saturday that “Blazers say Scoot Henderson (right shoulder strain) will miss Sunday night’s game vs. San Antonio and will be listed as day-to-day going forward.”

This means that we won’t see Henderson go against 2023’s No. 1 overall pick, Victor Wembanyama. But while that is disappointing, the news that he’ll sit out of Sunday’s game is not surprising.

Henderson didn’t get much time on the court in his Summer League debut on Friday, playing only 21 minutes with an injury. He did, though, make the most of his time on the floor, scoring 15 points, dishing out six assists and grabbing five rebounds.

Fortunately, if he’s being listed as day-to-day, it’s unlikely that this will be a long-lasting injury. Look for the Blazers to be conservative in bringing Henderson back, especially during the Summer League.

Portland’s next Summer League game will be on Tuesday, July 11 against the Charlotte Hornets. If Henderson plays in that game, he’ll be matched up against another one of 2023’s top draft picks, Brandon Miller.
