Round 2 of Sabrina vs. Steph might be on its way – with a twist!

WNBA superstar Sabrina Ionescu and multi-time NBA MVP Steph Curry had a barrel of fun during a 1-on-1 competition during NBA All-Star Weekend this year. The event had dramatics, fanfare, and, most importantly, again, a ton of fun.

So many wondered what the sequel would entail. Surely, after a successful competition, the NBA and WNBA would partner up again next year or at the WNBA’s All-Star Game. It turns out that a plan is indeed in the works, and it’s a very intriguing one.

Shams Charania reported this week that Steph and Sabrina are due to have a rematch next year. But instead of a 1-on-1, we’re gonna have a tag team match, it appears.

Yahoo! Sports wrote, “A Steph Curry and Klay Thompson vs. Sabrina Ionescu and Caitlin Clark 3-point Contest is ‘very likely’ for next year’s All-Star Weekend.” Yahoo wrote this news on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.

Assuming this is true, it’s a perfect setup to involve the newcomer Clark in a primetime situation. Clark is one of the biggest stars in basketball right now and is about to hit the WNBA once her collegiate career wraps up. She has built up a massive following, and so this makes some sense. Sabrina and Caitlin against The Splash Brothers is a fun time, especially in the Bay Area.

NBA fans, WNBA fans, and others had much to say about the news.
