Draymond Green is headed for free agency, but whether or not he remains with the Golden State Warriors remains to be seen.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Monday the Warriors star has declined his player option for the 2023-24 season and will become an unrestricted free agent. That option was worth $27.5 million.
Green’s agent, Rich Paul, told ESPN, “We will continue to talk to Golden State and explore all options.”
Klutch's Rich Paul to ESPN on Golden State's Draymond Green declining player option: "We will continue to talk to Golden State and explore all options," Paul said. It was expected Green would opt-out and now he can talk with Warriors, explore sign-and-trades and free agency.

Green, 33, has spent his entire 11 season NBA career with the Warriors, playing a key role in four NBA Championships. He averaged 8.5 points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game last season.
While Green could still sign a new deal with the Warriors, this decision gives him more options. He could certainly be a nice complementary piece to a team that is a player or two away from a title run.
After Green’s decision came out, fans immediately rushed to put him in a new uniform with just about every NBA contender.
