khakis

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh loves himself some good, comfortable khakis, and he is known to not want to spend a lot of money on his preferred choice of pants. Until now, it seems.

To the untrained eye, such as mine, it may look as though Harbaugh is still walking around in his signature bargain khakis, but those are actually pants from Lululemon. Once again, if you are as clueless about this stuff as I am, these khakis are retailing for $128.00 a pop.

Why the upgrade in khaki style? Maximum comfort.

I’ll never wear anything else,” Harbaugh said to ESPN.

Lululemon is known for athletic wear in addition to other clothing. Just recently, Harbaugh explained he works out in his khakis, so perhaps Lululemon’s khaki pants are more comfortable for working out (if you’re weird enough to work out in khaki pants in the first place). And make no mistake about it, Harbaugh is a weird fellow.

Going from buying $8 khakis from Walmart to shelling out $128 for a pair of slacks is quite the change for Harbaugh, but he can afford to live life in style and comfort. He is, after all, college football’s highest-paid coach in the nation. USA Today‘s database of college football coaching salaries says Harbaugh earns $9 million per year, a little more than $2 million per year more than Alabama head coach Nick Saban and $3 million more than Ohio State’s Urban Meyer.

Now, can we stop focusing so much on the khakis and talk about how Harbaugh is seemingly wearing that Michigan cap every day?
