Anthony Richardson USA Today

There is a lot of pressure on quarterback Anthony Richardson this season, but it doesn’t escape him.

His standards couldn’t be any higher in his rookie season with the Indianapolis Colts.

“I know they invested a lot in me,’’ Richardson said Monday, via Fox59, “but I’m not the only person on this team. They invested a lot into the other players. They invested a lot into this staff.”

Richardson was drafted fourth overall out of Florida.

“Everybody wants me to come here and win a Super Bowl my first year,’’ he added. “I wish I could, and I hope I can.”

Heading into the draft, Richardson’s athleticism stood out and showed instantly during preseason games. His accuracy in his passing abilities showed he comes as advertised.

But … a Super Bowl?

Well, we know that has to be said since it truly is the ultimate goal, but he also credits the rest of the team as the reason why that could be at the end of the line.

“I know they’re going to ride with me, and I’m going to ride with them. I don’t really see it as I’m the main guy because, without the other pieces on the team, it’s not going to work.’’

“But sometimes, you’ve got to understand it’s not all about me. [I’m] making sure everybody on this team is involved and everybody is doing their job, because I’m not the only one here,” Richardson added.

Richardson has big shoes to fill following in the footsteps of Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck. He’s the third QB the Colts have drafted in the top five since 1998.

His confidence is already showing, too. He trolled the Philadelphia Eagles Thursday night on a touchdown drive by mimicking the “Fly Eagles Fly” arm-flapping celebration.

It appears he will have a telling first season ahead of him.
