The worst part for most San Francisco 49ers fans was not the loss, it was how their team lost. The 9ers came into this game already two quarterbacks down and then during the game they lost Brock Purdy.
Purdy had led the 49ers on a seven-game winning streak entering the game against the Eagles but once he injured his elbow, the game was all but over and Purdy expressed his pain and disappointment about what happened.
ProFootballTalk tweeted, “Brock Purdy describes elbow injury as ‘extremely painful.'”

“I am so sad for the older guys like Fred (Warner), Trent (Williams), George (Kittle), Arik Armstead– everyone. All the guys that have been through this.”
The 49ers have fought through injuries all season to get to this point and it was injuries that finally ended their season.
There was nothing the team could do, not even putting Jimmy Garoppolo would have helped even though had the time won, he said to be available soon.
Purdy has seemly taken this loss all on his back.
“I am just frustrated, but sadder for those guys more than anything because they deserve to go and to win the whole thing.” Purdy said. “When that happened, I am just frustrated with that and sad for them.”
