Patrick Peterson knew exactly what was coming and exactly what he was going to do. In the NFL’s game of the year on Sunday, Peterson and the Minnesota Vikings defeated the Buffalo Bills in a 33-30 thriller. The game featured great plays, great players making great plays, gaffes, and a dramatic ending.

Peterson intercepted Josh Allen on a pass aimed for star receiver Gabe Davis. It turns out, that was no accident. He revealed on his All Things Covered podcast with former defensive back Bryant McFadden that he saw it coming the whole way.

Peterson broke everything down impeccably. The All-Pro cornerback said, by way of his podcast’s Twitter account, “With me going back to my film study, me being on Gabe Davis at the time, I’m like, ‘Alright man, this guy here is an inside-breaking receiver. He showed me that all game. He didn’t give me nothing else all game. … If he run this route, I’m gonna go pick this ball off.”

What’s more, Peterson informed a defensive standout on Buffalo’s side that it was inevitable. Peterson told Tre’Davious White, with whom he has a connection, as they are former LSU Tigers standouts.

He added, “You can ask Tre’Davious White. He was on they sideline. I said, ‘Tre, if they coming to this side, I’m about to pick this ball off. And lo and behold…”

The breakdown and added details provided a great look into how complex the game can be. And also just how good Peterson is now and has been his entire career.
