Over the past several weeks, there has been a lot of discussion and speculation about what the Chicago Bears could choose to do at the quarterback position, whether it’s sticking with current starter Justin Fields or drafting another rookie quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick. But it’s a pretty shocking turn of events, it sounds like there’s a chance they could do both.

According to a report from Adam Schefter, the Chicago Bears have talked about the idea of drafting a quarterback with the first overall pick and also keeping Fields.

“They have talked about the idea, as unlikely as it seems, of carrying both quarterbacks; taking the guy at 1, and keeping Fields. Now, will they get to that? It’s hard to imagine that. But that is a conversation that’s come up within the organization,” Schefter said on Sunday.

Tedy Bruschi expressed his doubts about this, suggesting that it could simply be a smokescreen from the Bears. But Schefter was adamant that it was not.

“It’s not a smokescreen,” Schefter declared. “They’ve talked about it. I’m not telling you they’re doing it, but they’ve talked about it.”

Obviously, this report led to a lot of reactions on social media.

We’ll have to see what the Bears ultimately decide to do.
