It is accustomed in many NFL locker rooms for team veterans to prank the rookies on the roster. The Kansas City Chiefs‘ veterans did just that to rookie wide receiver Skyy Moore on Saturday night.

Moore (seen above during May’s organized team activities) posted a picture on social media of a bill from a team dinner on Saturday night, which totaled a whopping $22,730 that he thought he would have to pay at the end of the night.

Moore luckily found out that this was just a prank by the team.

He detailed exactly what happened in an Instagram post, saying that it was a fake receipt that was printed off to prank him, and that veteran wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling paid the real bill accrued from the dinner.

The Chiefs drafted Moore in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and his contract with the organization is for a little over $1 million for the upcoming season.

While Moore certainly could have paid the bill from the dinner, it would have hurt him far more than Valdes-Scantling. Valdes-Scantling recently received a three-year $30 million contract this offseason to join the Chiefs organization.

With the departure of veteran wide receiver Tyreek Hill from the Chiefs this offseason, there is certainly a need for a dynamic receiver to replace him for quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

That could certainly be Moore. But for now, it looks like the team is treating him like any other rookie around the NFL with this awesome prank.
