As many already know, NFL All-Pro Vontae Davis was arrested in Florida a few days ago for drunk driving. Davis crashed his car into another car during a wreck on a highway at around 7:50 a.m.

Davis was later arrested and charged with a DUI. The arresting officer told Davis that “You almost killed somebody.”

Davis seemed to be out of it while talking to officers, claiming he only had a few drinks before leaving at 2 am. However, he does not remember the crash at all.

He wanted to know why he was being detained and the arresting officer told him flat-out that “Your eyes are bloodshot, your speech is slurred. You can barely stay awake. All right? You almost killed somebody.”

Davis responded he didn’t kill anybody but the officer then said “Yeah, man. They were in a truck on the side of the road. You took them completely out. And there was a father and son there on the shoulder.”

He was later booked on DUI charges and pleaded not guilty Monday. Although Davis didn’t kill anyone, he could have. Everyone remembers the infamous case of former Las Vegas wide receiver Henry Ruggs III who was charged with multiple felonies after he had struck and killed a woman after he was drunk driving.

If found guilty, Davis could be serving some time in the future.
