Detroit Lions star running back D’Andre Swift entered the 2022-23 NFL season as one of the top running backs in the league, but after suffering an injury during the team’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, it looks like Swift will be sidelined with an injury.
According to league insider Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, Swift suffered a shoulder sprain on Sunday and even though he likely won’t require surgery, he could be unavailable as he heals.

While Swift has been limited at times this season and has shared carries with Lions teammate Jamaal Williams, he has still been dominant this season, averaging 8.6 yards per carry.
Obviously, this was massive news to NFL fans and fantasy football owners across the country, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it with many suggesting that this open the door for Williams to have a strong showing.
This Monday is desperately in need of a Tuesday. https://t.co/dqSqPYo2XI

Hopefully Swift recovers soon and doesn’t miss too much that. That said, Jamaal Williams gonna go off https://t.co/K8ll53tWM9 pic.twitter.com/oKCQHNz7A0

Man, if this guy could just stay healthy. For once! Supreme talent when he is. Brutal blow for Detroit if he misses time. https://t.co/8LC1mXEzH0

Hoping for a speedy recovery for Swift. In the meantime, Jamaal Williams (40% avail on Yahoo) is the number one waiver grab if available in your league. https://t.co/HJHCiIVtoc

It’s safe to say that Fantasy football owners across the country will be flooding the waiver wire with claims for Jefferson on Wednesday morning.
