The Las Vegas Raiders are expected to move on from quarterback Derek Carr. Carr was pulled from the Raiders’ final two games of the season for backup Jarrett Stidham.

Carr struggled this year as the Raiders’ starter throwing only 24 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. The Raiders were expecting to have a big year and make a possible run at the playoffs after they traded for former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams, but it wasn’t meant to be.

Now, Carr has written a statement via social media saying his goodbyes.

“Raiders Nation, it breaks my heart that I didn’t get an opportunity to say goodbye in person,” Carr said.

“I am grateful and appreciative of the support of the years of support you gave to my family and me,” Carr continued.

Carr also said that he still has a fire in him to win a Super Bowl, but he won’t be retiring as a Raider as he once thought he would. Still, he wished the team the best as they move forward.

Rumors are already circulating that the team may be interested in both Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo and may pursue one or both of the quarterbacks in the off-season.
