Through the first eight weeks of the 2023 season, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has emerged as the rare non-quarterback to receive MVP buzz.

And on Thursday, the star wideout’s MVP campaign received even more legitimacy, with Hill being named the AFC Player of the Month for October.

Appearing in five games last month, the four-time first-team All-Pro tallied 36 receptions for 602 yards and four touchdowns. In eight games on the season, Hill has caught 61 passes for 1,014 yards and eight touchdowns and is currently on pace to set a new NFL record by becoming the first player to ever amass 2,000 or more receiving yards in a single season.

The 29-year-old Hill is the second Dolphins player to be named the AFC Offensive Player of the Month this season, after Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa earned the distinction for the month of September. On the season, the Dolphins rank first in yards per game (453.3) and first in points (33.9), while also ranking first in passing (301.5) and rushing (151.8).

Coming off a 31-17 victory over the New England Patriots, Miami currently sits at 6-2 and in first place in the AFC East heading into their highly anticipated Week 9 matchup against the 6-2 Kansas City Chiefs in Frankfurt, Germany, on Sunday.

Following the news of Hill being named the AFC Player of the Month, many took to social media to weigh in.
