The Philadelphia Eagles have been led by MVP runner-up Jalen Hurts for the entirety of the 2022-23 season. However, a horrible mistake by the star in Super Bowl LVII against the Kansas City Chiefs could end up being a deciding factor in the game.

Hurts helped lead two extremely impressive drives in the first half resulting in touchdowns, including a beautiful deep ball to star wide receiver A.J. Brown to get out to a 14-7 lead.

However, he made what could be a crucial mistake in the second quarter, losing the ball on a scramble attempt. The ball was picked up by Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton and subsequently returned all the way for a touchdown to tie the game.

While there is certainly plenty of football to be played at this time of this blunder, many fans expressed their frustration with Hurts after this costly mental mistake.

Super Bowls are typically defined by one big play that winds up swinging the game in one team’s favor. This could certainly be a play that has that effect in this matchup.

It is worth noting that this is the first Super Bowl appearance for Hurts, so this could be a case of some first-game jitters. This error was avoidable for Hurts, and he would likely love to have this black mark on what otherwise was a terrific start to Super Bowl LVII.
