Even though he will represent the team in the upcoming Pro Bowl, it’s long been known that veteran quarterback Derek Carr has played his last snap with the Las Vegas Raiders and that the team will part ways with him during the first portion of the offseason primarily for financial reasons and they’ve given him permission to seek a trade.

Derek Carr has played his entire career with the Raiders so far after the team drafted him in the second round of the 2014 NFL DRaft and clearly has some strong feelings toward the city and the fanbase. But as he transitions to a new team, fellow veteran quarterback Jared Goff has a strong message to support Carr.

“There’s definitely life on the other side,” Goff said according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “Often times a really great life.”

Goff was in a similar position as Carr a couple of years ago after he was traded from the Los Angeles Rams to the Detroit Lions in exchange for Matthew Stafford. He knows what Carr is going through, and he talked to him about it this week.

“We had a really good talk about it earlier this week,” Goff said. “I think his head is in a great place about it, whatever ends up happening with him.”
