Third-year quarterback Zach Wilson had perhaps the best game of his young career in Week 14 for the New York Jets, catching the attention of his coaching staff and many fans who tuned into the game. It also caught the attention of fellow Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who praised Wilson for the performance on Tuesday.

Wilson has battled adversity all season, whether that be shaky performances or even being benched for career backup Tim Boyle.

When given another chance to prove his worth as the starter in Week 14, Wilson stepped to the plate and came through with a terrific overall game, throwing for 301 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75 percent of his passes. This was enough to help the Jets pull off a dominant 30-6 upset victory over the Houston Texans.

Rodgers spoke about Wilson’s performance during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, expressing how happy he was for his teammate.

“I think that some guys get into a rhythm. You just kind of get in that zone and the play-caller gives you a lot of opportunities. We passed the ball ten straight times, which I think was directly related into getting him in a rhythm. Sometimes a quarterback has to make those special plays. I felt like he made a couple of big-time plays there. In the elements, under the circumstances, I was very happy for Zach (Wilson) and he played excellently.”

Rodgers has been very complimentary of Wilson even in the worst of times. So it’s not exactly surprising to hear this praise considering how well Wilson played.

Wilson and the Jets will look to build on their momentum in Week 15 against the Miami Dolphins.
