The New York Jets offensive line has been under fire this preseason, but it’s getting a huge upgrade.

SNYtv reported Tuesday that left tackle Duane Brown will be activated off the active/physically unable to perform (PUP) list Wednesday and will return to action after passing a physical.

Brown has been sidelined since undergoing shoulder surgery in the offseason. Incredibly, the 15-year veteran played the entire 2022 season with a torn rotator cuff.

Brown, a five-time Pro Bowl player and three-time All-Pro, returns at just the right time for the struggling Jets O-line. Head coach Robert Saleh even called out the line’s play in a rant on the HBO show Hard Knocks. The situation has been so dire that free agent tackle Jason Peters, 41, offered his services to the Jets Tuesday if they were to call him.

New Jets QB Aaron Rodgers is undoubtedly happy to have his blindside protected by Brown, and the team’s fans were happy to see the news, too.
