Everybody expects Cincinnati Bengals superstar Joe Burrow to receive a hefty new contract soon. The Bengal quarterback has lived up to expectations so far as the team’s No. 1 overall pick in 2020. Burrow led Cincinnati to back-to-back appearances in the AFC Championship for the first time in franchise history. That included a victory over Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in 2021 that sent them to their first Super Bowl since the 1988 season.

On Tuesday, Burrow spoke to the media and discussed his contract situation. He provided a telling update on the process: “I’m involved. It’s in the works.” He added that contract talks aren’t something he likes to have played out through the media.

Everyone has seemingly been on the same page about this. While there was some bluster about his contract’s impact on everyone else, Burrow also quelled those rumors. The Bengal star said he intended to keep other stars around, most likely referring to wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

Through his first 42 games, Joe Burrow has thrown for 11,774 yards, 82 touchdowns, and 31 interceptions. He has completed 68.2 percent of his passes as well. Last season, Burrow threw for 4,475 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. In the NFL Playoffs, Burrow has thrown for 1,826 yards, completed 67.33 percent of his passes, and thrown nine touchdowns and four interceptions.

The NFL world had much to say about the significant Joe Burrow contract update.
