When the Cincinnati Bengals take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC title game on Sunday night, they’ll be doing it without three of their starting offensive linemen as La’el Collins, Alex Cappa and Jonah Williams will all be sidelined from the game with injuries.
The three players fought hard and have been important members of the team all season, and star quarterback Joe Burrow feels bad that they can’t be with the team for such an important game.
“It’s always tough when you have guys who have invested so much in their careers to not be able to be out there with us in this moment, but I think those guys are pretty firm in what they’ve done for this team this year and helped get us to this point and we’re not taking that for granted,” Joe Burrow said, according to WLWT.
Their absence is a big blow for the Bengals in the trenches, who spent the offseason rebuilding that unit after having one of the worst offensive lines in the entire NFL last season, despite making the Super Bowl.
Still, Burrow has made it clear that he’s confident in whoever the Bengals play on the offensive line and Cincinnati did get some reinforcements as a starter from last season returned from injury.
The offensive line played well during the Buffalo Bills last week, we’ll have to see how it holds up against the Chiefs on Sunday.
