The New York Giants selected wide receiver Kadarius Toney with the No. 20 overall pick in the NFL Draft, but he never really caught on with the team as he dealt with injuries throughout his first season. As a result, the team traded him to the Kansas City Chiefs last year. And despite a lot of preseason hype, Toney had a disappointing start to his 2023 season – but it was still better than any Giants receiver for most of their season opener.

During the Kansas City Chiefs season-opening showdown with the Detroit Lions, Kadarius Toney managed just one reception for one single yard. But as Chris Raybon of The Action Network pointed out on social media, that is still better than the entire Giants receiving corps put up for the first 38 minutes of Sunday night’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.

“Took the entire Giants WR corps 38 minutes of game time to surpass Kadarius Toney’s 1 yard,” Raybon said in a tweet.

It’s an absolutely brutal stat that highlights just how horrible the Giants were on the offensive side of the ball on Sunday night, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on social media.

The Giants will certainly have to be better than that going forward.
