Kenny Pickett Beaver County Times

During Sunday afternoon’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett suffered a rib injury, but it sounds like there’s still a chance he could play this week – even if it’s a short week with a Thursday night matchup against the Tennessee Titans.

During his Monday press conference, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin revealed that Kenny Pickett could still play this week despite his rib injury this week and will likely be a game-time decision.

“Probably will be a game-time-type decision, based on the information that I’m holding here today with no structural damage and so forth to his ribs,” Tomlin said according to Pro Football Talk. “So, we’ll see how we’ll go through the week — his ability to throw, his level of comfort, his ability of effectiveness, etc., and let that be our guide in terms of determining his availability.”

Pickett has not been particularly dominant this season, completing just 61 percent of his passes this year and throwing just five touchdowns to six interceptions, but it’s clear that he provides the Steelers the best chance to win.

So, we’ll have to see whether or not Pickett is able to go for the Steelers this week.
