This week, Pittsburgh Steelers rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett will be dueling against Tampa Bay Buccaneers legendary quarterback Tom Brady in a Sunday afternoon contest in Pittsburgh. The game will pit a rookie quarterback making just the second start of his NFL career against a seven-time Super Bowl champion. And one quote from Pickett perfectly encapsulates the stark contrast between the two signal-callers.

During his Wednesday afternoon media availability, Pickett called Brady a “legend of the game,” and explained that he grew up playing as Tom Brady in the Madden video game.

“Kenny Pickett, who was born just two years before Tom Brady’s rookie year, said he grew up playing as TB12 in Madden: ‘Absolute legend of the game. Nothing but respect.'” DeFabo said in a Tweet.

Pickett was just three years old when Brady won his first Super Bowl, meaning that for Pickett’s entire life, Brady has been one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL.

Despite Brady’s continued dominance, it is widely expected that this will finally be his last season in the NFL. This comes after the NFL legend initially retired from the league following the 2021-22 season, but changed his mind and unretired just a few months later.
