Patrick Mahomes Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Before Patrick Mahomes became one of the most dominant quarterbacks we’ve ever seen in the NFL, he was actually a pretty prolific baseball player, as well, even getting selected by the Detroit Tigers in the Major League Baseball draft. It’s obviously been a while since Mahomes has played, but it sounds like he’d still like to show what he can do on the baseball diamond.

During a recent interview with Time Magazine, Patrick Mahomes said that he is “not opposed” to working out with the Kansas City Royals during spring training to show off his baseball skills a little bit.

“I’ve talked to the Royals,” Mahomes said according to Pro Football Talk. “And if I can maybe go out to a spring training, I’m not opposed to that. I’ll get it approved by the Chiefs and everything like that. But maybe one of these years I go out there and see what I got. See if I can still hit the ball or pitch or whatever that is. Maybe not in the games but I can at least practice with them.”

Obviously, this led to a lot of reactions on social media.

We’ll have to see whether or not Mahomes actually does this in the future.
