The New England Patriots have been in a weird place of late.

Quarterback Mac Jones, the team’s 2021 first-round pick has fallen out of favor and was benched in favor of Bailey Zappe for the final six games of New England’s season.

While the Pats have yet to publicly commit to a quarterback plan for next season, Jones has kept himself busy this offseason.

The former Alabama Crimson Tide star posted a video to his Instagram on Thursday showing off his attempts at a no-look pass, a type of pass we’ve seen grow in popularity in the NFL via quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.

Jones’ attempts don’t even look that bad, to be fair. But everyone on X still had the same joke to make: If Jones struggles to throw a pass where he’s looking at the receiver, how could he possibly throw no-look passes?

Jones has finished in the top 10 most interceptions thrown in each of his three seasons in the league. His 2023 interception numbers were particularly bad, as he threw 12 in just 11 games and threw only ten touchdowns.

While it may not end up working out for Jones with the Patriots, perhaps he can continue to develop his no-look passing skills and turn them into something he can utilize in a game.
