Eagles Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Ever since he was selected with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, wide receiver DeVonta Smith has emerged as one of the top offensive weapons for the Philadelphia Eagles. And now, it sounds like he’ll be with the team for at least a few more years to come.

According to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport for the NFL Network, the Philadelphia Eagles and DeVonta Smith have agreed to a contract extension that will keep him in Philadelphia for at least the next three years.

“The #Eagles have paid another big-time, rising player. This time, WR DeVonta Smith gets a 3-year, $75M contract extension that includes $51M guaranteed, sources say. The deal was done by @kelt_crenshaw of @KlutchSports, and it keeps Smith in PHI for years to come,” Rapoport said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

This is obviously massive news for the Philadelphia Eagles to lock up one of their top weapons for the next several years, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media.

We’ll have to see how Smith performs for the Eagles throughout the duration of this contract.
