Over the weekend LA Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris made news when he saved a three-year-old from drowning in Las Vegas.

When the child was pulled from the pool, he had no pulse according to witnesses, that’s when Morris stepped into action.

“I saw people calling 911, so my first question was, where is the AED?” Morris told ESPN.

Morris found the automatic external defibrillator.

“When I got back, we had a doctor on site who was able to start the compressions,” Morris said. “I was able to hand the AED to him, get it open for him, put the pads on the child, and he ended up being OK.”

Morris credits his recent training with the Rams for CPR, AED, and first aid for knowing what to do in that crisis.

Since the Damar Hamlin incident, the NFL has required all of its teams to take some kind of first aid training.

Morris’ heroics did not go unnoticed by social media.

Morris was grateful that his AED training saved a life.

“I’m just thankful I knew what to do,” Morris said. “You just never know when you’re going to need that stuff.” He is absolutely right; This is probably why the NFL decided to require their teams to take this kind of course because, at some point, it will be needed.
