As the NFL trade deadline approaches, one of the biggest names that fans have begun to wonder about is Davante Adams.

But according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Las Vegas Raiders have already decided that they won’t be dealing their star wide receiver in the coming weeks.

Per Schefter:

The Las Vegas Raiders have informed teams around the NFL that they are not trading Davante Adams before the Oct. 31 deadline, regardless of how unhappy the star receiver is with the offense, league sources told ESPN.

The Raiders have made it clear to teams that they are not interested in moving on from Adams, even if the All-Pro is open to a trade, according to sources. Adams signed a five-year deal with Las Vegas in 2022 and was intended to be one of the centerpieces of Raiders coach Josh McDaniels’ offense.

The six-time Pro Bowl selection has become the subject of trade speculation in recent weeks as he has voiced frustration with his role in the Raiders’ offense. Adams has been targeted a total of just nine times in each of Las Vegas’ last two games, both of which were Raiders wins.

“I’m sure people are thinking, ‘They won the game, so why is there an issue?’” Adams said Wednesday according to Mark Anderson of the Associated Press. “When you’re a player like me, mentally my benchmark is not wins and losses, it’s greatness. So when I go out there, I expect to have that ability to put that on the table and have an influence on the game. That’s my purpose for being here.

“I came here to win and to do it the right way, so if it doesn’t look like it’s supposed to look, then I’m going to be frustrated if I’m not part of that plan.”

Las Vegas acquired Adams in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers ahead of the 2022 season and signed the Fresno State product to a five-year, $140 million contract. Having earned first-team All-Pro honors in each of the last three seasons, Adams has tallied 39 receptions for 471 yards and three touchdowns through the first six games of the 2023 campaign.

The Raiders enter Sunday’s game against the 1-5 Chicago Bears laying claim to a 3-3 record.

Following Schefter’s report that Adams won’t be available on the trade market, many took to social media to weigh in.
