The recent quarterback woes of the Denver Broncos were supposed to end when they signed former Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson.

That vision has not become a reality as the Broncos have struggled to a 2-2 record to start the season. They host the Indianapolis Colts on Week 5’s Thursday Night Football.

Wilson turned heads when he entered the stadium before the game while wearing an orange flannel over a black shirt with a gold chain and headphones. Russell posted the look to Twitter and insinuated he was locked in:

Russell tweeted the picture of himself with a “lock” emoji.

The NFL world was merciless in its reaction to the orange flannel fit:

“Squares on the rise tonight,” joked Josh Kellem.

“When you have a pumpkin patch photo shoot at 4 and a football game at 5,” Sarah Kezele wrote.

“Wow Russell Wilson saying goodbye to cottagecore era,” wrote Nora Princiotti.

“Is he… is that Taylor Swift Evermore flannel?”

Not everyone hated the outfit, however:

“The hate is insane. This fit fire,” wrote Tramel Higgs.

As of this writing, Wilson’s sartorial choice did not ignite a spark in the Broncos offense. The Broncos lead the Colts, 3-0, at the end of the first quarter.
