You never know quite what you’ll see on Thursday Night Football.

While the games are usually sloppy due to the teams playing, injuries, the short turnaround from the week prior, or anything else, sometimes you get a good one, especially if the two teams have had a full week off, as is the case this week as the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks face off. Each team’s last game was on Thanksgiving Day.

The first half of Thursday’s game had a wild ending.

Trailing Dallas 20-14 in the half’s waning seconds, Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith found wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba for what appeared to be a 30-yard touchdown. After a video review, it was determined that Smith-Njigba didn’t maintain control of the ball, and the touchdown was overturned.

However, Cowboys cornerback DaRon Bland was called for pass interference in the end zone on the play, so Seattle accepted the penalty and got the ball at the one-yard line with seven seconds to go.

Then, Smith appeared to find tight end Noah Fant in the end zone for a one-yard score, but as it turns out, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy called a timeout right before the ball was snapped and the play was blown dead.

Finally, after all of that, Smith found DK Metcalf in the end zone to finally get the points on the board.

Sometimes, the third time really is the charm.
