The Los Angeles Rams have been on the selling end of a couple of trades so far this season, dealing running back Cam Akers to the Minnesota Vikings and wide receiver Van Jefferson to the Atlanta Falcons. It’s led to some speculation that they might now look to bolster their roster via trades, but it doesn’t sound like that’s part of the plan this season.

During his press conference this week, Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay was asked if the team would be active in adding talent before the trade deadline, and McVay somewhat shot down that notion.

“No, we don’t really have the availability,” McVay said according to a transcript from the team obtained by Pro Football Talk. “I don’t know — you kind of have to have some resources and different things like that for those to be options, So I don’t know that those conversations will be as prevalent as maybe in years past.”

The Rams find themselves with a 2-3 record so far this season in a particularly difficult NFC West division led by the San Francisco 49ers. We’ll have to see if the team’s current roster is enough for them to put themselves in playoff contention.
