For the past few weeks, there has been a lot of talk about the potential futures of star quarterback Tom Brady and prominent former head coach Sean Payton as both are potentially interested in new teams with some reports even predicting that the two will team up at their next destination. And one NFL insider has a prediction as to which team that could be.

According to NFL insider Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the Carolina Panthers is the most likely team to sign both Tom Brady and Sean Payton.

“Four teams are interested in Payton — the Broncos, Cardinals, Texans, and Panthers. The first two have quarterbacks under massive contracts. The Texans need a lot more than Brady to become competitive,” Florio explained. “Enter the Panthers. The last to officially join the Payton chase, Carolina has a very good defense, very good receivers, a solid running game, and an offensive line good enough to make it all go.”

More than that, however, is the potential willingness of team owner David Tepper to sign both Brady and Payton.

“They also have an owner who has been desperate for a great coach and a franchise quarterback. Even though Brady would be a short-term option, he’d fill the stadium and create a ton of excitement,” Florio said.

While nobody knows the future. There’s still even a chance Brady retires and that Payton doesn’t even return to coaching. But if both are going to be with the same team next year, the Panthers make the most sense.
