The Washington Commanders franchise appears to be up for sale as controversial team owner Dan Snyder is taking action towards selling the team in the midst of a criminal investigation as well as a league investigation for allegations of sexual harassment, misogyny, and financial fraud. And as a few potential buyers have emerged despite quite a lofty projected price tag, it looks like the team might have some news to share – whether it’s about the team’s sale or the many allegations against it.

On Wednesday afternoon, Washington Commanders ESPN NFL Nation reporter John Keim shared that “a major announcement” was coming on Thursday related to the Washington Commanders.

“The DC Attorney General’s office emailed reporters regarding a press conference tomorrow where AG Karl Racine will ‘make a major announcement related to the Washington Commanders,’ Keim shared on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon.

While we don’t know the the “major announcement” could be, that certainly didn’t stop the NFL world from offering plenty of speculation about the news on Twitter.

Whatever the announcement is, it’s likely to be pretty massive news for the NFL world just before the start of another week of NFL football. The Commanders, however, don’t play again until Monday night.
