It’s safe to say that the Cincinnati Bengals have faced a lot of adversity on their road to a second-straight AFC title game. The Bengals had one of the toughest schedules in the NFL down the stretch, suffered some key losses on the offensive line, and were hurt by the changes to the NFL playoff seeding perhaps more than any other team. But according to Bengals coach Zac Taylor, the team is embracing that adversity.

In an interview this week, Zac Taylor revealed that the tough situations are “what they respond best to.”

“They want the toughest road,” Taylor said in an interview with Geoff Hobson of the Cincinnati Bengals team website. “Whatever ammunition I can give them to help them understand that we’re in a tough road, I’ll give it to them because that’s what they respond the best to. With high stakes, I like our team’s chances because of the mindset they have every day they walk into the building.”

The Bengals will be facing another tough situation this week, taking on the top-seeded Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead Stadium with a second-consecutive trip to the Super Bowl on the line. But it sounds like they team wouldn’t have it any other way.
