This is about as bizarre — and embarrassing — of a finish as you’ll ever see in hockey.

The Boston Bruins needed to match the Philadelphia Flyers on a shootout attempt to keep the game alive, but Boston whiffed on the opportunity. Literally. Brad Marchand overskated the puck at center ice, but did move it forward. That counted as a shootout attempt, giving the Flyers a 6-5 win.

Now, it’s very possible he just misses a real shot anyway, but this is still a brutal way to lose a game.
