Herschel Walker

With the December 6 runoff looming against incumbent Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock following America’s most intense Senatorial campaign, Republican nominee Herschel Walker’s reputation for saying very weird or confusing things about the environment continues to precede him.

Walker, who survived the initial election to make it this far in spite of abortion scandalsstrange statements, and blatant lies, is trying to convince Georgia voters to consider him before the runoff happens. The Georgia Bulldogs legend spoke to supporters over the weekend and discussed a familiar issue, climate change.

According to the Republican candidate, the United States is not ready for environmentally friendly policies such as the Green New Deal and Americans should just continue buying “gas-guzzling cars.”

“If we was ready for the green agenda, I’d raise my hand right now. But we’re not ready right now. So don’t let them fool you like this is a new agenda. This is not a new agenda,” Walker said at a campaign stop. “We’re not prepared. We’re not ready right now. What we need to do is keep having those gas-guzzling cars, ’cause we got the good emissions under those cars. We’re doing the best thing that we can.”

Pro Football Hall of Famer and Fox Sports talking head Shannon Sharpe watched the video of Walker’s speech and had a very succinct thought about it.

“WTF. This is EMBARRASSING,” wrote Sharpe.

These are just the latest weird comments by Walker about the environment and climate change. In July, he accused China of sending its “bad air” to “our good air space.”

In August, Walker reacted to a provision in the Inflation Reduction Act that allocates $1.5 billion to the U.S. Forest Service’s Urban and Community Forestry Program by pondering if we really needed any more trees.

Don’t we have enough trees around here?” asked Walker.
