With WWE in San Jose for Monday Night Raw, George Kittle was one of the San Francisco 49ers in attendance. While Kittle was being recognized, Travis Kelce, one of his fellow tight ends was shaded by one of the announcers.
Kittle, who was sitting in the first row alongside teammates Elijah Mitchell and Talanoa Hufanga, was shown on camera. Lead announcer Michael Cole made mention of Kittle being part of WrestleMania in April. His broadcast partner made a more juicy comment with a direct jab at Travis Kelce and more specifically, Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift.
“Nice to see a tight end who doesn’t need to date Taylor Swift to put himself on the map,” Barrett, real name, Stu Bennett said.

Wrestling and football fans generally got a good chuckle out from Barrett’s dig at the star tight end.
"Nice to see a tight end that doesn't need to date Taylor Swift to put himself on the map" is a BAR

Barrett was not the only one using the relationship with Swift as ammunition for trash talk against Kelce on Monday. Byron Murphy, whose Minnesota Vikings will host Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 5, also mentioned the relationship as part of some trash talk and said he’ll do the same during the game.
The relationship has certainly earned a lot of air time. So chances are, we’ll hear a lot more comments like this in the future.
