After his rise to the NFL was immortalized in the film, “The Blind Side”, Michael Oher’s performances on the field have been…well, let’s be nice and say “shaky”. He has found a home with the NFC champion Carolina Panthers, and now that his form has settled in, he’s been rewarded with a new three year contract worth $21.6 million and $9.5 guaranteed. Not bad. But that alone wouldn’t be that interesting. How Oher’s fellow Panthers offensive linemen celebrated however, is.

Very clever guys. Now 30, Oher isn’t the spring chicken and highly touted prospect he once was, but it is nice to see him finally find his groove after a rough stretch in his career before coming to Carolina. And it’s also good to know he’s taking the jokes in stride.

And to complete this story, Leigh Anne Tuohy, Oher’s adoptive mother in “the Blinside”, approved of the trolling by his teammates.

Everyone gets a hug.
